Most Bulgaria banks will still only provide mortgages for properties in Bulgaria only for Bulgarians or permanent residents. Mortgage for Bulgarian property is provided by a number of other banks, some of which have operations in the UK. Normally Bulgaria mortgage is offered only for properties that have already been completed or are near completion. Therefore, mortgages are not offered for off-plan developments that are still on the drawing boards.
Otherwise, getting a mortgage for Bulgaria property is subjct to the same terms and conditions as applying for any other holiday home mortgage in France or Spain.
